Meet Tammy McArthur

I have been living in Virginia for 8 years. I am originally from New York City. I have a court order requiring my ex to pay child support in the amount of $60.00 per week. Even with this order, I had not received child support from my ex since December 1993.

When I went to Virginia's Department of Child Support Enformcement and prepared all of the paperwork for them to start garnishing my ex's wages, they did nothing for me. Even though the state child support agency had his home address, place of employment and social security number, they got no money for my children.

It wasn't until I saw a television commercial for a private child support agency that I finally, after years of trying, began to receive child support. Since I began to work with a private agency, I now receive a weekly check!

I'm truly grateful to the private agency for all their efforts. Although the amount may not be much, their help has been priceless. My children's father is finally accountable, and we are getting the help we have needed for so many years.

I hope my story will give other custodial parents like me HOPE. Don't ever give up. There are resources out there that will help you get what you need for your kids.
