Meet
Rasha Brinkmann-Yahya
My
ex was a US Military Police Officer at the MP Station,
where I worked as a civilian local national employee. After
we had Danny, our relationship ended. I filed our case
with the local child support recovery department and then
the waiting started.
Three
long years, and I was told that because he was in Illinois
and I was in Georgia , there was no way they could help
me.
Frustrated
and angry, I started to look for other options. Then I
saw a commercial from Supportkids on TV and asked them
for help. Thanks to the great job this agency had done,
the checks finally began to come in.
In
June last year, the payments stopped all of a sudden, and
I found out that my ex had changed jobs. It took the Supportkids
team only a few months to locate his new employer and soon,
he was paying again.
I
can't say how grateful I am to the people at Supportkids.
If it were for the government authorities, my case would
still be sitting somewhere in a filing cabinet and nothing
would have been collected, except dust on the folder.
I
hope that my story helps other parents look for other options
and continue to fight for what their children deserve.
Best
regards,
Rasha Brinkmann-Yahya
